Most popular riff

Decided to post my riff after the encouragement I got from many of you. As I said, it's not much, but I am proud of it. I returned to the CAGED System and based my Riff around Syn's Tip in Lesson 29, where he encourages us to stay in one position when playing and making the most of it. To demonstrate why that is benefitial I played my chords in different positions first and the main riff all in one position. Here's the theory behind it: My Riff is based around Dm, the Chord Progression is Dm-F-G (Dm-A-Dm-A-F-A-Dm-A-G-A-G-A to be exact). The main riff is sweeping the arpeggios (I think) all based around the fifth fret, using Dm in the Am shape, A in the E shape, the C shape for F and the D shape for G. I always play D, F or G arpeggio on the up sweep and the A on the down sweep. I am doing this in so much detail to get some extra practice with the CAGED system. Also I am aware there is no F# in my key, which I play when sweeping the G arpeggio but I thought it adds a nice touch.

No synner saturday Riff from me today but I did practice my original a Bit. Still can't Play Well enough to a Metronome to record the track for good. Even considering a lesson with Bill, may help me with this
Just tried the Hughes & Kettner "Spirit of Metal" amp at our local store. That thing is so tiny you wouldn't believe it's an amp but DAMN that power and pressure behind the sound. Only good for heavy riffing though and with master on 2 that 50W thing tried to blow my ears out already. So not an amp for my bedroom guitarist ass...
wrote a tiny riff with Syn's Tips that I am really proud of but I think it's just not good enough. Don't really have what it takes yet to make the things I imagine reality. Barely have time for practice anyway.
So excited for the care package. I hope it's the sunburst guitar. Maybe I am lucky and I get a Hellwin too?

Trivium will come to my home town next year!! Thought about making an Ibaraki strap for Matt to give to him when they are coming. So exciting!!
Official annual subscription Legend now!
Hey everybody! Thought it's time to give a little update on my musical journey. Honestly I am not using this site to the fullest at the moment, which I wish I could. But right now there are days where I don't even touch the guitar, let alone have the energy for serious practice or getting my head into theory. However, I am recording my new song bit by bit at the moment, the timing is making it difficult still. Also working on a cover. I have a one week vacation next week, so maybe I'll be more active then.
Damn I miss posting to the media section and being active there. Just barely time to play and if it's mostly without an amp and practicing my song. Hope to be more active in that regard soon again! So awesome to see new people kicking ass here!

I just thought to myself "oh I think I can reach that speed of the first Sweep Etude, this won't take long"

"What the fuck"
Master. Class. Fucking awesome experience! So glad the school made it possible 😍
Especially @Jak Angelescu and of course Bill
I have soo many cool riffs for my song. Just gotta piece it together now and then practice the whole thing. My goal is to have the final thing be a one take, two guitar tracks, bass and drums to keep it close to a "real" song you could perform live - unlike my first original.
Huh, the color scheme of that "legend" status is gold / white, just like Syn's Golden Goddess guitar. Fitting...

I mean, Tobias Forge admitted himself that once he records his songs, he usually forgets how to play them :)). Does your work schedule allow for some flexibility or nah? Meaning can you like work from home or do you need to be in the office? Because if you are from home and you have some flexibility on when you start, you could try to incorporate some playing before or after hours. Kinda like a routine.
